"I want to start by saying that I genuinely hoped to have a positive experience with State Farm, but unfortunately, my time with them has been quite disappointing. 1. Communication Issues:Throughout my time with this insurance company, I've experienced significant challenges with communication. I once faced a temporary financial issue that led to a late payment, but I communicated with them well in advance. Despite this, I was met with harsh automated letters threatening to drop my coverage. I felt punished for circumstances beyond my control, with little support from customer service. 2. Customer Service: My interactions with my assigned agent, Crystal Fuller, have been frustrating. I rarely, if ever, manage to get in touch with her, leading to delays in addressing my concerns. It gives the impression that the agent is overwhelmed and unable to provide adequate assistance. When I finally spoke to Jacob, I was relieved to receive some help, but this shouldn't be the norm for a service based industry. 3. Claims Process: I recently had my first substantial accident, which was not my fault. Navigating the claims process was a headache. I initially filed with my insurance instead of the other party’s, which I learned too late. When I sought clarification, the responses felt unhelpful and vague. 4. Comparison with Other Insurers In contrast, the other party's insurance (USAA) was fantastic. They were prompt, helpful, and even covered my rental car expenses without any hassle. This only highlighted the deficiencies in service from State Farm. 5. Rental Car Insurer Issues: I've faced additional headaches with the rental car insurance, which I've spoken to the company about. They seem unwilling to take responsibility for the damages, even though I can prove there was no damage caused during my rental period. It seems like they're quick to point fingers elsewhere rather than accepting accountability. Overall, I believe State Farm has serious gaps in customer service and claims management. I expected more support and understanding, especially as a responsible driver with a claim-free history. I would advise potential customers to consider other options before choosing this insurance provider."
"Hi Bethany, I am so disheartened to see this review. I know we have met in person and we also work with your family members. I have reached out to you to discuss, and I sincerely hope to hear back from you. 1) Communication- It is our urgent and #1 priority to contact customers in multiple ways when we have returned payments to notify customers that their coverage will cancel. We text, email and call. The emails are State Farm automated, and the texts and calls are from our office. Our customers have always appreciated the communication, and it is in no way intended to be harsh or upsetting. We send hundreds of these out per day and this is the first we have received this feedback. Although we cannot change State Farm emails, we will review our scripts per your suggestion. 2) I am in the office every day. Your family even has my cell phone. I have never received a phone message, email or direct call. I would have loved to help you! We also have nearly 20 staff in my office and in full transparency, I typically do not personally handle billing issues but I have a very trained and qualified team that does. I see you have worked directly with four of them to resolve your account. 3 & 4) When you call to file a claim we must file it. I understand it is frustrating to pay your deductible with your own insurer. If someone else is liable, you do not have to pay your deductible, and I agree that is much nicer. The claim with us was promptly closed at your request. I would like to visit with you to see how we can improve here. The claim was closed and not handled by State Farm. 5.) You must have rental coverage on your policy for rental to pay out. Regarding damage to a rental vehicle, as per your statement, you did not cause damage to a rental. Why would State Farm pay if you can prove you did not damage it? We get these rental vehicle claims often and have experience in handling these and working with rental agencies. We are glad to work with you to communicate the process. We are a small business, we are staffed far more than most State Farm offices, and we pride ourselves in the customer service we provide. I sincerely would like to hear from you to resolve this and move forward in a positive way and with mutual respect. Our policyholders are like family to us. We would love for you to come by, put faces with names of those that have helped you along the way and have a start fresh with building our relationship.
